Close to the Grotto - great location. Parking in a secure garage for 8 euros a day. Free internet, great staff

The hotel itself is very convenient to local shops, train station and just few minutes walk to the Santuary ie Grotto, Basilica, etc.My wife and I would therefore will stay in the Excelsior hotel in the very near future.The hotel lounge/reception is very impressive indeed. Well Done Excelsior, highly recommended to those visiting Lourdes, France.Ideal also to family as a whole.Buffet breakfast excellent, varieties of fruits available.

Location to the groto
It is not value for money. Rundown and very basic room. No safe in room. It is about 20 sq ft., Old 12 inch tv, door lock that is primitive, And check in is slow.

The Staff at the hotel were extremely polite and helpful and allowed us to check in at 9.30am and gave us a room that directly overlooked the Sanctuary, a wonderful view!!
Coffee at breakfast was awful and although the room had an excellent view it was decoratively tired but these two minor points in no way detracted from the stay.

Very Old. Carpet, Bed sheets, terrible view to an abondoned building. Norrow hallways and mini elevator. Wifi is only available in the lobby. Pictures on line are not the accuarate representation of the facility. I was fooled!

Beautiful, elegant building with breathtaking views! The friendliest and most helpful staff of all the hotels we stayed in! Will come back again and again!
Only that there were no air conditioned rooms and we happened to be there during the warmest season. But fans were available and worked out very well in the cooler evenings.

Attitude of Staff during the breakfast buffet - Did not allow us to choose a table in a completely empty breakfast hall and then terrorized us for 30 min by making maximum noise clearning tables next to us - Outrageuos, unfriendly and completley unprofessional attitude!!! Also, Rooms very noisy at night since walls are very thin!

Hotel is within walking distance to Sanctuaries. Our room is facing the castle of Lourdes. Hotel staff were very helpful.
Map shown on Booked.net does not sync. with the actual location. Have to walk about 15 mins to the train station. Its rated 3 stars but no basic toiletries - soap, shampoo, hand towel or drinking water were provided. The check out is only available from 7.30am onwards, if travellers who plan to catch a train out of Lourdes anytime before 7.30am, will have problem checking out. We were caught in this situation, the night shift receptionist said he does not know how to arrange for check out. In the end we had to pay cash and left without getting a receipt but we had him signed a handwritten paper.
